The Rak’nur are carnivorous beings very intelligent that inhabit in Ewdtia, a planet that is part of Nermecodi. The Rak’nur were not always native from Ewdtia but they got there from other planets very similar, though distant, of Nermecodi itself, such as Noamu Planet.

There they interacted with other important species for the future of these planets like the Upandu, the Triffs, the Vampire-Camels (in Ewdtia), the Upaldaali (Upandu of Noamu), the Mantas Ray of Noamu and the Stingrays of Noamu (in Noamu). Although the "state" structures that they built were rather primitive compared to those developed by Upandu, the Rak'nur got to be a prosperous race that dominated some island-continents of Ewdtia.

Noamu, in some point of the history of the Rak'nur, could be considered as a Clon World of Ewdtia, however, the current differences are so pronounced, that Noamu is no longer considered in that way. [See Értrayd-lwa vs Értrad].

Planet Noamu has the same size as Ewdtia, but its continents have evolved quite differently: there is no such clear differentiation between hemispheres as in Ewdtia, with a supercontinent in one hemisphere and hundreds of islands and island-continents on the other hemisphere (see), but the islands are partially fused and there are 3 supercontinent. Moreover Eakehē (called in Noamu Planet as Kaheri or Eakehē-la) was almost completely sank in the ocean, so their remains are not recognizable.

Despite the differences in the continents and the enormous time elapsed, the Rak'nur of Ewdtia hardly differ from the original Rak'nur of Noamu. However, Rak'nur of Noamu are much less aggressive than those of Ewdtia.

The Rak’nur of Ewdtia

In Ewdtia, the origin of the Rak'nur is lost in ancient time, as many other species like the Triffs. Unlike them, the Rak'nur stand out for having a par intelligence with Upandu, while their organization is very similar to that of a pack of carnivores, rather a very large population groups performing different functions and with great social stratification (Upandu).

The appearance, in anatomical terms, of the Rak'nur not vary much among themselves, despite living on the islands-continent easternmost —like Vanaamaxili— or in the western continent —Eakehē—.

Size comparison: Rak'nur-Humans by Jakeukalane

Their bodies are lithe and strong and are designed to move at high speed to hunt and kill their prey. They are 3 to 5 meters from the head to the end of its heavy tail (they use for balance when running) and 1.3 to 2 meters tall at the withers.

So are athletic animals and hunters, with very strong jaws full of teeth that always lead exposed. Despite being able to deliver short, crackling and deep growls and possess a spoken language to communicate, the Rak'nur prefer to use body language to convey complex messages and avoid opening their powerful jaws to such mundane pursuits.

This is because, despite his skin around his jaw is extremely flexible and can comply perfectly with its mission, its complicated teeth suffer more than they should if they had to continually open to communicate. A Rak'nur with problems in their teeth is a Rak'nur that can not properly hunt itself and eventually will need to be cared for by other members of the clan, to eat. This also explains why Rak'nur who have not reached adulthood spoken so often communicate normally while the adults Rak'nur just only vocalize two sentences together outside the ritual ceremonies. This behaviour will change over time.

The very sharp razor claws ascend from the base of the bone (without toed) and serve to dismember their victims. Some criminal groups rak'nur tear the claws of their victims, keeping them as trophies.

Their behavior inside the tribal group (or herd) is often determined by ranges of prestige, the result of each individual's skill and wisdom in making decisions. They are very experienced hunters so they act very stealthy way when hunting: When stalk their prey, the clan chief indicated by short movements of his three nostrils which will be the strategy.

These nostrils are not normally visible (although some individuals have skin of a different color in that area) and only open to smell (their partners or to check the quality of the water) or at the time to go hunting, or for smelling prey either to the tribal chief (or the head of the hunt) give brief instructions.

In order to breathe they use breathing slots on both sides of the neck, like gills, but used to extract oxygen from air.

Unlike general appearance, it can not be said that their patterns of skin color are the same everywhere, since in each place (and even in every tribal community) there are different ranges. Most Rak'nur look only two tones: which is properly their skin color (in muted shades and ocher) and another, brighter, covering large areas on their face, neck, legs, belly and tail (where the skin is thinner).

Depending on the environment, Rak'nur have different patterns on their skin, from striped, speckled until laberynth-form spirals and complicated drawings. Each pattern is personal and there are not two designs repeated exactly the same. The same is true between the various clans and territories: each has its characteristic color and pattern.

Rak’nur settlements in Vanaamaxili

Vanaamaxili in Ewdtia by Jakeukalane

Its largest settlements are situated on the island of Vanaamaxili where they have established three different "states": Rakruyg, Màusyg and Wernuysyg, with major conflicts among themselves. They also have small settlements in neighboring Vănwirassili.

Rakruyg

Rakruyg occupies the southwestern end of the island, on the peninsula of Bjtayga. It is a mountainous and jungle territory where Rak'nur maintain their traditions intact since ancient times: the hunting is done not only as a basic method to get food but as a form of social prestige. Although individuals hunt often, they didn't do to feed themselves (since they have already satisfied their alimentary needs before), no prey is wasted and is used in all kinds of objects and fabrics.

Population groups are fairly small and the contact with each other is insignificant and occurs mainly in times of mating.

One of the most differences between Màusyg/Wernuysyg and Rakruyg lies in the social aspect of manipulating objects. While in Rakruyg they do not use their delicate jaws to carry objects, in Màusyg and Wernuysyg that custom was soon abandoned. Rak'nur in Màusyg and Wernuysyg often wear a transparent cover that protects the teeth while they use them as if they were real hands. An important role is given also to the tongue, that is very muscled and can manipulate things in a precise way.

Màusyg

Màusyg occupies most of Vanaamaxili and have a rak'nur State that it is moderately developed. The way Rak'nur status is not really advanced and does not become more than a tribal and clan society with a high degree of interconnection. Therefore Màusyg is somewhat primitive compared with contemporary upandu States as Noddossismli or Piskytleunda.

However, it has an army, legislators and judges traveling and administration nodes. This is the most unique feature of Màusyg: the administration is not centralized —despite the country have a "capital" (Yjnu'rak)— there is no "institutional" buildings in it. The few institutions of state level that develop in Màusyg are monopolized by a minority social elite that sees these institutions (the army, the priesthood and justice policy and administration) as an exclusive right.

This administration in nodes is embodied in the figure of the Talvnwiu (itinerant judges) that directly apply tribal law and levy a primitive tax on meat (but do not exercise direct rule of any kind). The Talvnwiu divide the territory of Màusyg in 6 provinces, called "Talvas". The "Talvas" report directly to the Tluviarc, "judicial" head of the 6 provinces. The Tluviarc, despite wield some power over the nodal and justice authorities and, to some extent, on the priestly caste and the army, has no major direct powers and can not do the actions characteristic of a monarch.

And that is because over the Tluviarc is the Council of the Triangular Circle (consisting of 17 members and in charge of the drafting of laws) and the Council of the Squared Circle (consisting of 160 members and with very unclear powers). Both boards are outside the laws of the Talvnwiu, have a fierce control of the army and have large assets. They also control some of the nominations of the rak'nur priesthood and above all, they control the trade throughout Màusyg, very incipient compared to Wernuysyg.

Apart from the few organizations at the state level, most of the rak'nur society of Màusyg is semi-nomadic and only a small economic elite live in cities. That economic elite includes the Councils, Talvnwiu, their collaborators and family and small groups of traders, independent all of them. These "cities" barely have 3,000 inhabitants and most of them are concentrated around the capital, Yjnu'rak. The rest are the capitals of the six provinces (Nak'ryk, Hgu'ryk, Nym'ryk, Trkjs'ryk and Ti'ryk). Nym'ryk province (also called Central Màusyg by its position in Vanaamaxili and having territory from coast to coast) does not meet this and certainly has three major cities apart from the capital (Nym'rak): Màusyg'rak, Rau'rak and Jriu'aank. This is because the trade route that runs between these three cities, coast to coast.

The towns of Màusyg and generally all Rak'nur populations are closely settle the course of rivers, lakes or on the coast.

Las Aranhas Gigantes Turquesas de Vanaamaxili by Jakeukalane

The "army" was articulated in response to the constant attacks of Shirkoiveans species, like the Giants Syhks and Sharkeths, or other hazards such as Giant Turqoise Spiders of Vanaamxaili and Giant Tyranopendras of Vanaamaxili.

Wernuysyg

Wernuysyg is located in the northeast coast of the island-continent of Vanaamaxili. The border between Wernuysyg and Màusyg, unlike the border between Màusyg and Rakruyg is not drawn on any type of natural landform and it is only the result of economic "power" of the north with respect to great kingdom located in the center of Vanaamaxili. It is this financial independence, the result of a trade far more developed than that of Màusyg or the Rakruyg, so Wernuysyg independence is feasible (although Màusyg constantly search for ways to dominate their neighbors in the north).

The language spoken by Rak'nur of Wernuysyg is the same as that of their neighbors to the south, both being a dialect of the oldest rak'nur language spoken in Rakruyg.

Unlike Màusyg, Wernuysyg do not have a management based in nodes but each tribal clan intensively exploited all the resources of its territory: hunting, both on land and in rivers or on the coast; loggers, abundant resources due to heavy rains or the extraction of precious metals. Only occurs an organization over the tribal by specific agreements, which seek to maximize profits by trading with other species.

Wernuysyg has a certain independence of its southern neighbors, but not too much and that is because the hunters have not organized a standing army and need the armies of neighboring Màusyg to defend its territory from attack by shirkoiveans species or tyrannopendras, etc.

This causes frequent clashes between different tribal groups of Wernuysyg with Màusyg's army, because, though a tribal chief can call the army of Màusyg in his help, not all tribal chiefs can agree with these decisions. Indeed, some tribal leaders used the army of Màusyg as a strengthening of its position against other enemy tribal chiefs. This situation causes a continuous confrontation between different tribal forces against the army of Màusyg and meanwhile there are numerous and harmful attacks of the aggressive species that surround rak'nur nations.

Wernuysyg has a much denser than Rakruyg or Màusyg population, being the commonplace cities, sizes close to or even higher than Yjnu'rak (the capital of Màusyg). The much smaller but important local farms, trade villages are also very common.

In Vanaamaxili there was also during this time Upandu settlements.

The Rak’nur of Noamu

The Rak'nur in Noamu have communities living around Értrayd-lwa, mainly concentrated in Vanaamaxili although there are large communities in southern Sudjzl and Wuashu and west of Nuamiryjh.

In Noamu the Rak'nur have a more comfortable life because predators are not as numerous as in Ewdtia and competition for food is much lower. It is for this reason that their organization does not reach the consolidated states such as the ones in Vanaamaxili of Ewdtia but are just large tribal groups, with effective control of territory but limited in its scope: ie control groups Rak'nur their territories, but there is no connection between them. Also, being nomads (instead of semi-nomadic like in Ewdtia), the Rak'nur of Noamu have major conflicts with each other, rather than with other species.

The Rak'nur of Noamu are somewhat larger (up to 2.50 meters in the withers and 7 meters), while they are somewhat less intelligent than Rak'nur of Ewdtia. Some specimens live with the Elves of Noamu, serving sometimes as mounts.

Because most of their population is in Vanaamaxili and this island-continent has often been associated with Tllýsinma (also known as Tllýsinmu), the God of Water and Death, some think that Rak'nur of Noamu have something to do to that God, though all are assumptions based on the alleged encounters with Moose of Tllýsinma with Rak'nur near Temples of Tllýsinma.
