Conforme avanzó la primera carrera espacial la necesidad de vigilar la inmensidad de las Llanuras de Nunuium aumentó.

As the first space race was going forward the need to monitor the vastness of the Nunuium Plains increased.

In the Desert of the Nunuium Plains (the part that the Modern Fractal City has not swallowed yet), the Fractal Mages are still discovering old buildings abandoned by the Fractal Emperors. Most appear near | Fractal Rome, but buildings of that time were erected in any corner of the Fractal Empire, in the place of what would later be the Fractal City or even Temples in the middle of the desert.

Unthinkable dangers can arise from these places. It is said that the first Red Warlocks meet by the Fractal Mages were buried in a Fractal Tomb.

The Stair to space (ie space elevators

) were increasingly required for their original purpose, bringing bulding materials to the Space Stations, like the Fractal Space Station (FSS) and could not be used for surveillance purposes. The Stairs to the space had been used in order to observe the Nunuium Plains, because of the impossibility of establishing observation posts in the Steep Mountains, due the Creatures of the Mountains.

The Floating Towers of Djaila were built to alleviate this deficiency. They were inspired by Floating Fortresses that flew over the Nunuium Plains (suspected by their style of construction that were made by the Fractal Emperors). Also some Fractal Mages had done Floating Islands.

However, the Fractal Mages did not require moles as colossal as the la Fractal Fortress High above the clouds, but something much more efficient. The Floating Towers of Djaila are modular an can be detached from the main body to cover a larger area.

Constructions such as the Crimson Fortress would not have gone unnoticed if instead of the system of individual informants communicated by radio something similar to the Floating Towers of Djailia had been used.
